Penelope Cruz: I'm a mother first

Penelope Cruz says she will only make one or two films a year now that she is a mother.

The 37-year-old Oscar-winning actress - who is set to appear in Woody Allen's To Rome With Love - has 14-month-old son Leo with actor husband Javier Bardem.

Penelope told Harper's Bazaar: "Maybe I'll make one movie a year, maybe two, but it's not going to be more than that because I have other priorities now."

The Spanish star said she divides her time between Madrid and Los Angeles, but while she loves Hollywood she does not want to settle there with her family.

"When I come here now, I have so many memories," she said. "Some of them good, some of them not so good. I have lived beautiful moments here, but I don't want to live here. It is not the place where I want to raise my kids."

Penelope described herself as "being happier in my 30s than I was in my 20s", but added that she considers herself a "worrier"

"I'm living for every day and trying to have less fear, less worry," she said. "But I have always worried about everything; it's in my nature. It's the thing that makes me suffer the most."

Penelope and Javier are currently in London while he films the villain role in the new James Bond film.
