Cruz and Bardem have worked together before; they both appeared in the 1992 flick Jamon Jamon, and in Woody Allen's Vicky Christina Barcelona in 2008, just one year after they began dating.

In addition to Bardem--who also starred in 2007's No Country for Old Men, the gritty drama based on the McCarthy novel of the same name--Michael Fassbender and Brad Pitt have already signed on to costar in The Counselor. Also in talks? Pitt's love--and new fiancee--Angelina Jolie, though THR says the actress may have trouble balancing the part with her starring role in Maleficent, which hits theaters in 2014.

Though Cruz, 37, has yet to sign on the dotted line, she will most likely take on the role of Fassbender's on-screen love interest.
