Penlope Cruz Inspires Gamers' Fantasies in Mario Ad [VIDEO]

Not many women can pull of the Mario Bros., look, but Penlope Cruz gives it a good shot in this unexpected cameo in an an ad for Super Mario Bros. 2.

The premise: Penlope and sister Mnica square off in a poolside competition on their respective Nintendo 3DSes. The younger Cruz wins, prompting the denouement. A simple idea, but what's the point? That glamorous movie stars play Mario Bros. too or, as The Hollywood Reporter suggests, to provide "the ultimate fantasy sequence for male gamers"?
