Penelope Cruz has gone with a brave new look, sporting dungarees and a moustache - dressing up as beloved video game character Mario for a Nintendo advert.

The award winning actress is one of the most beautiful actresses in the world, but clearly she's got a sense of humour and isn't afraid to look a bit daft!

Maybe she's taking some tips from Charlize Theron, who uglied herself up for her Oscar winning-role in Monster?

In the hilarious clip, which promotes Nintendo's 3DS handheld console, Penelope is beaten in a game of Super Mario Bros. 2 by her equally stunning sister Monica, and is forced by a bet to go to the grocery store to order a mushroom while dressed up as the legendary Italian plumber.

She may have won awards at the Oscars and at Cannes for her roles in films such as Volver and Vicky Christina Barcelona, but we think she deserves and award for this too!
