Penelope Cruz not sure about Pirates future

Penelope Cruz does not yet know if she will be reprising her role as Angelica in the next 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie.

Penelope Cruz ''hasn't heard'' if she is going to be in the next 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie.

The 38-year-old actress played the role of Angelica Teach in the last instalment of the franchise 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides' - alongside Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow - and while it is expected she may reprise her part, no one has confirmed anything to her.

She said: ''Have I heard anything? No, I haven't. I haven't read a script. I haven't heard anything. With Johnny and the director Rob Marshall, it's like anything. But I don't mean movies. I consider them my friends. And I really love them and respect them.''

Penelope admits she had a great time making the last film because she was pregnant during shooting and was happy to have the support of the cast and crew.

She told Collider.com: ''I loved making that movie. Because, Johnny is an incredible human being. He's a very good friend, and he's always been so good to me.

''And you know, that was a very special time for me because I was pregnant through the whole movie and the way Johnny and Rob were with me, the way they protected me, the way they took care of me, I will never forget in my life.''
